CoinEx Shuts Down Amid Drying Liquidity and Rising Costs

Share

CoinEx has announced its decision to shut down after nine years of operation. The exchange will officially close on December 22, 2026, following an orderly wind-down process.

The prolonged crypto market downturn and rising compliance costs have pushed operational risk beyond what the founder, Haipo Yang, considers acceptable. Trading volume has shrunk significantly, further exacerbating the situation.

User assets are safe, with a reserve ratio above 100% and full backing for withdrawals starting today. Withdrawals remain open until December 22, giving users over three months to move their funds.
