CoinEx Shuts Down Amid Market Downturn and Regulatory Challenges
CoinEx, a Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange, is shutting down due to persistent market downturns and increasing regulatory challenges. The firm plans an orderly wind-down of its services from September 15, 2026, with withdrawals allowed until December 22. Bitcoin's value has remained near two-year lows around $60,000, significantly lower than the nearly $130,000 peak reached in October 2025.
The prolonged weak cryptocurrency market and shrinking trading volumes have further compounded challenges for CoinEx, which cited these factors as reasons to cease operations. Analysts note a significant drop in Bitcoin trading volumes, exacerbating market difficulties.
