CoinEx Shuts Down Amid Regulatory Challenges
Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange CoinEx has announced it will shut down operations on December 22 after nine years in business. The exchange's founder and CEO, Haipo Yang, stated that managing security and regulatory compliance risks had become increasingly difficult.
CoinEx explored a sale but ultimately decided to cease operations due to the complexity of wrapping things up cleanly. Users are required to withdraw their assets by December 22 as the exchange will no longer be available for trading or asset management after this date.
The closure marks another challenge faced by established exchanges in the maturing cryptocurrency market, which is seeing increased competition and declining market positions.
