Coinkite Bitcoin Wallet Hack Results in Estimated Losses of $130 Million
A software flaw in Coinkite's Bitcoin wallet was exploited to steal users' funds, resulting in estimated losses of around $130 million.
Coinkite, a Toronto-based company, declined to speculate on the total amount lost, stating that they cannot independently confirm the figures reported by third parties.
In a statement to Bloomberg, Coinkite said, 'We won't speculate on a number we can't verify directly. For loss estimates, we'd point you to the independent on-chain analysis being published by outside research teams, they're better positioned to trace and verify that than we are.'
