CoinMarketCap Expands Pro API with Real-World Asset Endpoints

Share

CoinMarketCap has expanded its Pro API to include real-world asset (RWA) endpoints, giving developers access to data on tokenized versions of traditional financial instruments. The seven RWA endpoints cover tokenized equities, commodities, currencies, government securities, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and real estate.

The RWA endpoints are available now and span the full data lifecycle, including an ID map and metadata endpoint that return descriptive and company information. Asset-list and quotes endpoints provide aggregate tokenized price, market capitalization, and 24-hour volume. Market-pairs and issuer endpoints expose the underlying on-chain tokens, as well as the markets they trade on and the issuers behind them.

CoinMarketCap's CEO Rush stated that developers should not have to stitch together multiple providers to build a serious crypto product. By bringing tokenized real-world assets into the same API that covers spot, derivatives, DEX, and market indices, CoinMarketCap aims to provide a dependable source of truth.
