Coinsbuy Crypto Wallets Hit by Cross-Chain Drain Worth Nearly $8 Million
Crypto payment processing platform Coinsbuy has been hit by a significant security incident that resulted in losses of approximately $7.9 million across the Ethereum and TRON networks.
The breach was first flagged on August 9, 2026, around 13:00 UTC, with analysts pointing to possible compromise of hot-wallet private keys or elevated administrative privileges as the most likely explanation.
Attacker-controlled addresses were identified in the forensics, including two Ethereum wallets. The perpetrator quickly moved to obscure the trail by routing portions of the stolen assets through centralized platforms such as ChangeNOW, FixedFloat, and BingX before converting them into Monero (XMR).
