CoinShares PLC has announced that its US-listed mining ETF, WGMI, will be renamed to CoinShares Bitcoin Mining and Digital Power ETF. The change reflects a shift in the company's strategy to capture the growing convergence of bitcoin mining and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

The fund, formerly known as CoinShares Bitcoin Miners ETF, will now invest at least 80% of its net assets in companies involved in bitcoin mining, hyperscale data centers, semiconductors, AI components, power generation, and energy infrastructure essential to data centers. The move is designed to keep investors aligned with the industry's structural shift.

CoinShares' CEO, Jean-Marie Mognetti, stated that listed miners have spent a decade building what AI now needs at scale: energized sites, custom power agreements, immersion cooling, and engineering teams who know how to run dense compute 24/7. The company's US-listed mining ETF has been renamed to reflect this convergence.
