Coldcard Attack Wave Four: Hackers Steal Another 389.9 BTC
A fourth wave of hacking attacks has hit Coldcard Bitcoin hardware wallet users, resulting in an estimated $90 million loss.
The attack, which began with a vulnerability found in the firmware, has affected over 1,100 wallets and stolen approximately 389.9 BTC.
According to Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy, the transactions from the affected addresses show abnormal behavior, indicating another wave of attacks.
Thorn advises users who still control their private keys to broadcast a conflicting transaction with a higher fee before the attacker's transfer is confirmed and move their assets to a secure wallet.
