Coldcard Chaos Sparks 2013 Wallet's $31M Move
A long-dormant Bitcoin wallet from 2013 has moved 500 BTC, worth approximately $31.32 million, in response to the ongoing Coldcard firmware exploit. This transfer is just one of many instances where holders have shifted their funds due to security concerns.
The original wallet was created on December 6, 2013, and at that time held a balance of roughly $521,000, based on the then-current price of Bitcoin.
Since the Coldcard exploit surfaced on July 30, over 1,400 BTC has been swept through it. Additionally, hundreds of coins from long-dormant wallets have moved voluntarily, with some potentially driven by fear surrounding the exploit.
