Coldcard Firmware Flaw Sparks $38M Bitcoin Transfer Concerns
Coldcard Warns Mk3 Users Over Bitcoin Security Concerns
Hackers have reportedly transferred over $38 million in Bitcoin, and researchers are investigating if it's related to a firmware issue with Coldcard Mk3 wallets. The hardware wallet maker Coinkite issued an advisory warning users who generated their recovery seed using specific firmware versions 4.0.1 through 5.0.3.
No confirmed link has been established between the on-chain movement and the wallet issue, but the transfer occurred around the same time as the Coldcard Mk3 warning. The affected users are being encouraged to migrate their funds as a precaution while the investigation continues.
