Coldcard Hack Exposes Bitcoin Vulnerability, Scam Schemes Multiply
A major security issue was discovered in one of the oldest hardware crypto wallets, Coldcard, on Monday. The vulnerability allowed attackers to gain access to bitcoins belonging to thousands of owners, resulting in losses estimated at $115 million.
Meanwhile, Strategy, a company that had been increasing its bitcoin position for several years, reduced its reserves by selling another portion of cryptocurrency worth $104 million. Since the beginning of summer, total sales have exceeded $300 million.
The FBI reported a major operation against scam factories, seizing over $15 billion as part of Operation Blackout. The agency emphasized that it is now targeting the destruction of entire criminal networks rather than just individual scammers.
