Coldcard Hack Sparks Concern Over Cold Wallet Security

A recent bug in the Coldcard wallet led to the theft of 600 tokens from 500 wallet addresses, causing the price of Bitcoin (BTC) to drop by nearly 3%.

The Coinkite team, creators of the hardware wallet, admitted that a complex series of bugs prevented the hardware random number generator from contributing randomness in certain versions of the firmware.

A sophisticated AI model was used to review the code for security issues a few weeks ago, but it did not detect this bug or any other serious problems.

The incident has raised questions about the security of cold wallets and their vulnerability to advanced AI models.
