Coldcard Users Warned of Potential Risk After $38M Bitcoin Sweep
Coldcard users have been warned to move funds from wallets generated on an affected firmware version after a mysterious $38.3 million Bitcoin sweep.
The warning comes from Coinkite, makers of the Coldcard signing device, which states that seeds created on firmware versions 4.0.1 and later may put funds at risk.
The issue affects Coldcard Mk3 devices running up to version 5.0.3, but not the Mk4, Q, or Mk5 models.
Experts are examining a coordinated sweep of 594.48 BTC from single-signature addresses, although no connection has been established between the sweep and the firmware issue.
