College Students Overwhelmingly Want Crypto Taught in School
Nine in ten college students say their schools should teach crypto and blockchain in financial education. However, most institutions are not catching up to this demand.
According to new research from OKX, 90% of students believe colleges should cover crypto and blockchain, while 87% of parents agree. A significant number of both generations think it should be a requirement: 27% of students and 32% of parents.
Despite the near-universal demand, only about 28% of US universities with AACSB-accredited business schools offer formal coursework in blockchain. Students are turning to alternative sources for information on crypto, with over a third citing social media or influencers as their most important source.
