Companies Invest Billions in Bitcoin Treasury Holdings

A crypto treasury company holds cryptocurrency, typically Bitcoin, as its main reserve asset on its balance sheet, rather than cash or government bonds.

The largest and original corporate holder of Bitcoin is Strategy Inc. (Nasdaq: MSTR), which pioneered the model in 2020 and still runs its underlying business alongside its holdings.

These companies make money through appreciation of their held asset, as well as raising capital to buy more crypto per share.
