Companies Match Government Deposits in New Trump Accounts for Babies
Strategy, chaired by Bitcoin maximalist Michael Saylor, has pledged to match government deposits in new Trump Accounts for newborns of US employees. The company will contribute a $1,000 one-time match and up to $250 annually until the child turns 18. This is on top of a $1,000 government seed deposited into the account when the child is born.
The accounts are tax-deferred investment vehicles created under the 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act.' The funds will be invested in low-fee US equity index funds, as specified by the federal program. Strategy isn't alone in this initiative; Dell has pledged $6.25 billion to cover 25 million children, Micron committed $250 million, and Visa is also participating.
