Compound Seeks Institutional Revival with New Management and $52 Million Budget
Compound Finance has undergone significant changes in its management team and budget allocation. The decentralized finance lending protocol has appointed new executives, including former Near Protocol COO Christopher Donovan, former Maple Finance executive Steven Liu, and former Coinbase Custody CEO Aaron Schnarch. This move is part of Compound's strategy to attract institutional investors and revive growth after its total value locked (TVL) fell from $12 billion in 2021 to around $1.2 billion.
The protocol plans to focus on developing real-world asset (RWA) products, expanding partner integrations, and building credit infrastructure that meets existing financial regulations and technical standards. This effort has been allocated a budget of $52 million, aimed at restoring Compound's growth trajectory.
