Compound's $52M Push Targets COMP Price Surge to $20
Compound Foundation made significant changes to its leadership structure, appointing four new executives. Aaron Schnarch will take over as Executive Director, Christopher Donovan as Chief Operating Officer, Leo Eikelman as Chief Technology Officer, and Steven Liu as Chief Product Officer.
The appointments aim to make Compound [COMP] a competitive asset in the DeFi market. The foundation also approved a $52 million development fund, allocating $28 million for operations and $24 million for project growth over the next two years.
The funds will be used for various fields such as risk, marketing, and engineering, with a focus on developing Compound V4. The goal is to bridge the gap between DeFi and TradFi through institutional credit offerings. This move reflects a broader transformation in the DeFi sector.
COMP's price reacted positively to the news, surging to $18 before retracing slightly. With an 8.6% daily gain, COMP is currently trading around $17.6, with a significant increase in trading volume over 648%. The Exchange Supply Ratio (ESR) has crashed to a three-month low of 0.12, indicating strong market participation.
