Connecting Excellence Accelerates Growth through Acquisitions and Talent Recruitment
Connecting Excellence Group Plc, listed on the AQSE (XCE) and OTCQB (XCELF), has made its first acquisition as part of a strategy to accelerate growth through business purchases and talent recruitment. The company's CEO, Scott Ellam, spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about this move.
The target company generated £1.79 million in revenue and £431,000 in EBITDA over the past 12 months, according to Ellam. This acquisition aligns with the model of acquiring profitable, scalable, owner-managed recruitment firms where existing owners want to stay involved.
In addition to this first acquisition, Connecting Excellence is also seeing growth at its operating company Spencer Riley, which reported a 20.6% increase in revenue for the 2026 financial year. To drive further growth, Ellam aims to hire four experienced recruiters, including one launching a private equity and leadership division focused on portfolio companies and C-level appointments.
The company is also expanding its Bitcoin treasury, currently holding just under 73 BTC, with Ellam looking to increase both 'revenue per share and Bitcoin per share.' The medium-term targets include £10 million revenue and over 100 BTC. These key milestones will be achieved through completing the first acquisition, further deals, and additional hires.
