Consensys Renames Itself to Reflect Growing Divergence Between MetaMask and Institutional Blockchain Focus
Consensys Software Inc., a company founded by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, is undergoing significant restructuring. The existing entity will be renamed MetaMask and take on the name of its popular browser wallet.
Lubin will become the executive chairman of the newly formed Consensys, with Mike Kriak leading as CEO and David Cunningham serving as president.
META MASK has surpassed 100 million downloads across approximately 190 countries, making it a major player in the crypto space. The platform is expanding beyond its original wallet role to offer payments, savings, trading, and traditional financial instruments through its 'Open Money' platform.
