Consensys Splits Into Two Independent Companies
Consensys Software Inc. has announced that it is separating into two independent companies: MetaMask, which will focus on consumer products, and Consensys, which will retain Linea and protocol infrastructure operations.
The separation will allow both businesses to concentrate on their respective markets with sharper focus, according to Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin.
Lubin will serve as chairman and CEO of MetaMask, while becoming executive chairman of the new Consensys. Mike Kriak will lead Consensys as chief executive, with David Cunningham serving as president.
