Core Lightning Urges Immediate Upgrade Amid Vulnerability Surge

Core Lightning has released an urgent security update to address multiple vulnerabilities in its version 26.06.7. The update comes after a recent surge in AI-generated security reports targeting open-source Bitcoin projects, including Core Lightning.

The developers behind the project have warned that immediately disclosing fix details could allow attackers to reverse-engineer the vulnerabilities and attack nodes that have not yet been updated.

As a result, all node operators are advised to upgrade immediately, with specific vulnerability information being kept confidential for two weeks so they can complete upgrades before technical details and source code are made public.
