Core Scientific Dominates Mining Pool Concentration with Foundry USA
Core Scientific's mining pool concentration is significant, with Foundry USA commanding over 26% of the total network hashrate as of September 11, 2026. This dominance is followed by AntPool at around 18%, F2Pool at 10%, ViaBTC at 13%, and SpiderPool at 9%. The total network hashrate remains near 900 EH/s, with a level of 127.45T reached following a 1.31% increase in difficulty on September 5.
The company operates 159,000 owned miners with an 18.4 EH/s self-mining hashrate as of February 28, 2025. In September 2024, the company earned 345 bitcoin from its owned fleet, and customers earned an estimated 66 bitcoin during the same period.
Core Scientific faces execution risk due to a lack of new colocation leases over the past 17 months. The company also committed $2 billion to development and acquisitions in 2026 before securing contracts across its expansion pipeline. To mitigate this, Core Scientific is diversifying into high-density data center operations and AI GPU cloud workloads.
