Core Scientific Lands $14 Billion AMD Deal, Validates Rejection of CoreWeave
Core Scientific has signed two massive deals that will bring in over $14 billion in potential contracted revenue. The company, which operates as both a Bitcoin miner and an AI infrastructure provider, signed 15-year lease agreements with AMD for 529 megawatts of critical IT capacity across five US sites.
The agreement also includes warrants for up to 30 million Core Scientific shares at $23.47, vesting at a rate tied to the megawatts leased. Roughly 6.5 million shares have vested immediately.
The deals come nine months after Core Scientific shareholders voted down CoreWeave's $9 billion all-stock buyout. The move was advised by proxy advisers who believed the company was worth more independent than it would be as part of CoreWeave.
