Core Scientific Lands 15-Year AMD Deal, Shifts Focus to AI Infrastructure
Core Scientific (CORZ) has signed a 15-year AI infrastructure partnership with AMD. The agreement supports large-scale AI data center deployments across multiple U.S. sites, reflecting a shift in focus from bitcoin mining toward AI infrastructure services.
The deal is structured around more than $14 billion of base contracted revenue over 15 years and reserves up to 2.5 gigawatts of capacity for AMD deployments. This scale helps frame Core Scientific's recent decision to commit large capital to data center development, even as it reported significant losses in Q2 2026.
Core Scientific's stock closed at $20.745 and is up 29.7% year-to-date and 57.3% over the past year. However, recent weakness has seen the share price down 13.6% over the past week and 23.7% over the past month.
Investors should watch how quickly Core Scientific converts reserved AMD capacity into live, revenue-generating deployments and how that compares with the capital it spends on new data halls and power infrastructure. Progress updates on grid connections, construction timelines, and occupancy rates at sites in Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Georgia will be important.
