Core Scientific Taps 2.5 GW Capacity for AMD AI Deployments
Core Scientific has signed a significant agreement with AMD to provide up to 2.5 gigawatts of data center capacity for AI deployments starting in 2027.
The partnership will see Core Scientific and AMD deploy Instinct GPUs, EPYC CPUs, and ROCm software to support high-density computing workloads.
This deal places Core Scientific among several publicly traded Bitcoin miners pursuing AI infrastructure contracts, as the company continues its shift from crypto mining to AI computing.
The agreement also includes market-priced warrants allowing AMD to purchase Core Scientific shares under certain conditions, which could introduce potential dilution for existing holders if exercised.
