CoreWeave Signs Multi-Year SSD Deal with Solidigm to Power AI Cloud Expansion
CoreWeave has secured a multi-year supply deal with Solidigm for solid-state drives (SSDs), ensuring priority access to high-capacity storage as the company expands its AI cloud infrastructure.
The agreement, which builds on an existing partnership between the two companies, will provide CoreWeave with custom SSDs optimized for AI workloads. These drives will feature native direct-to-chip liquid cooling to address heat density issues that arise when housing large-capacity drives in GPU clusters.
CoreWeave's demand for high-density storage is driven by its growing AI cloud business, which has seen significant investment from OpenAI and Perplexity through multi-billion dollar partnerships. The company has also leveraged its acquisition of Core Scientific to convert former Bitcoin mining infrastructure into AI compute capacity.
