Corporate Buying Spree Drives Ethereum Demand
Corporate Ethereum treasury firms have been on a buying spree since June, snapping up nearly 1% of the total supply. This surge in investment has seen Ethereum outperform Bitcoin in recent price action.
The trend suggests that these companies are doubling down on their Ethereum bets compared to their Bitcoin investments during this period. One reason for this might be Ethereum's growing adoption and increasing access to DeFi opportunities, which U.S.-based ETFs currently cannot tap into.
Standout firms in this space include BitMine, which holds 625,000 Ethereum tokens, representing 0.52% of the total circulating supply. SharpLink, on the other hand, acquired $290 million worth of Ethereum between July 21-27 at an average price of $3,756.
One notable acquisition is being made by The Ether Machine, which plans to acquire over 400,000 Ethereum tokens, valued at more than $1.5 billion, in preparation for a Nasdaq listing.
