Corporate Sales Weigh on Bitcoin Price
Bitcoin's price has taken a 2% hit after two major corporate holders announced sales of their Bitcoin holdings. MARA Holdings, a prominent miner, and Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), the largest corporate holder, disclosed recent sales in regulatory filings.
MARA sold a portion of its Bitcoin to cover operational costs, while Strategy's sale was a small percentage of its treasury. This move adds to market supply and investor caution, with BTC trading near $63,000 after falling from $64,300 the day before.
While the amounts sold are not fully disclosed, both companies have reiterated their long-term bullish stance on Bitcoin. Historically, small corporate sales have had limited impact on prices, which are influenced by broader factors like regulation, adoption, and macroeconomic trends.
