Corporations Abandon Crypto for AI as Market Declines
The cryptocurrency market has experienced a decline of 2% over the past 24 hours, bringing its total value to $2.18T. This drop is largely due to corporations shifting their focus from cryptocurrencies to AI technologies.
Crypto mining companies like MARA have sold off significant amounts of BTC, with MARA alone selling 23,093 BTC for approximately $1.6 billion in the first half of the year. Strategy has also been liquidating its holdings, selling a total of 6,916 BTC over six weeks.
Holders are now looking to sell their BTC to build up liquidity or switch to AI investments. This shift in focus may accelerate the liquidation of BTC positions in the coming weeks, but it also returns cryptocurrencies to their ideological roots.
