Cosmos Ecosystem Shifts to Unified Stablecoin Standard with Injective (INJ) USDC
The Cosmos ecosystem is shifting towards a unified stablecoin standard with the adoption of Injective (INJ) USDC. This change, announced on September 10, 2026, replaces Noble USDC across Cosmos and dYdX, streamlining stablecoin use with Circle's latest Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) infrastructure.
Circle, Injective, Cosmos Labs, and dYdX are coordinating the transition. The migration opens on September 11, 2026, via the Skip:Go platform, providing a streamlined process for users to convert their holdings. This move consolidates USDC representation within Cosmos, reducing fragmentation and aligning the ecosystem around a single native stablecoin issued by Circle on Injective.
The adoption of Injective USDC is expected to enhance cross-chain compatibility and reduce friction for users. The supported chains at launch include dYdX, Osmosis, Cosmos Hub, Terra 2.0, and others, with more integrations expected. This migration also positions Injective as a critical hub for stablecoin activity within Cosmos.
dYdX will adopt USDC.inj as its sole eligible trading collateral, eliminating the need for bridging between different USDC representations. Migration instructions for dYdX users will be provided closer to the transition date.
