Cosmos EVM Hack Exposes $5.7M in Six Blockchain Networks

A vulnerability in the Cosmos EVM software module affected six blockchains between August 20 and 25, 2026, draining around $5.72 million.

The Cosmos EVM is a shared building block used by many chains to extend their execution environment with Ethereum compatibility.

Three of the affected chains, MANTRA, KiiChain, and TAC, halted operations after discovering the flaw in their code.
