COTI Pioneers General-Purpose Privacy on Mainnet with gcEVM

COTI has successfully implemented its general-purpose privacy solution, gcEVM, on its mainnet since March 2023. This achievement allows developers to deploy arbitrary programs that compute over end-to-end encrypted data without revealing sensitive information.

The gcEVM implementation is based on secure multi-party computation and provides full EVM compatibility without requiring specialized hardware. According to the developers, it runs up to 3,000 times faster and is 250 times lighter than alternative privacy solutions.

COTI's general-purpose privacy solution has various use cases, including payroll contracts, sealed auctions, and liquidations. Notable users of COTI include Bancor, which uses the protocol to encrypt its execution thresholds and protect arbitrage strategies from front-running.
