CPI Reading Brings Uncertainty to Bitcoin Price Ahead of Clarity Act Vote
Bitcoin's price has been hovering around $76,992.66, up 1.1% over the past 24 hours but relatively flat for the week. The question on everyone's mind is whether today's Consumer Price Index (CPI) reading will push Bitcoin's price below $75,000.
A hotter-than-expected PPI reading yesterday triggered a brief selloff, with Bitcoin down about 1%, Solana down 1% to 2%, and XRP down roughly 4%. However, these losses have since been fully retraced.
Analysts are weighing in on the situation. Michaël van de Poppe has flagged $75,500 as a critical level for Bitcoin's near-term price action. According to him, if Bitcoin breaks below this level, it could drop to $74,500, which would be an ideal area to look for long entries.
Another analyst noted that even further pullbacks might not be bad news, as they could be forming a larger bullish pattern, as long as Bitcoin holds above the mid-$60,000 range. He pointed out that major support lies just above $76,000 and that there's a build-up of downside liquidity around $76,100.
