CNBC host Jim Cramer recently announced on air that he's selling his Bitcoin due to concerns over quantum computing. He cited an interview with IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, who stated that it may take three or four years for quantum computers to crack the cryptography protecting coins. Cramer didn't wait, saying 'Arvind Krishna knows quantum incredibly... And I'm going to sell mine.'

The move was met with a mix of reactions from crypto traders, some praising him for being paranoid and others poking fun at his track record of selling the bottom. Regardless, experts agree that the quantum threat is a real concern for the crypto space.

Quantum computers could potentially break current cryptographic systems, leaving coins vulnerable to hacking. This fear was exemplified in the recent Coldcard exploit, which saw over $100M in losses and highlighted the need for increased security measures.

However, some protocols are taking proactive steps to address this issue. For example, ZEC used AI to find exploit vectors in their own cryptography and patched them before they could be exploited.
