Cronos Crumbles Below $0.053 Support After Trump Media Partnership Collapse
The Cronos cryptocurrency has dropped below its support level of $0.053 after the collapse of the Trump Media treasury partnership with Crypto.com.
The deal, announced in August 2025 as a $6.42 billion treasury play, included $1 billion in CRO tokens and a $5 billion credit facility as part of a broader CRO-focused strategy.
However, due to prevailing market conditions and stakeholder priorities, the partnership was terminated by Trump Media's interim CEO Kevin McGurn, who stated that the CRO Strategy venture has been pulled.
The collapse highlights the constraints facing crypto treasury strategies, particularly those built around less-liquid altcoins like Cronos, which has a smaller market capitalization and thinner liquidity compared to Bitcoin and Ethereum.
