CRV Volatility: 9% Surge Followed by 3.7% Drop Amid Profit Taking
Curve DAO Token (CRV) has been experiencing significant volatility in recent times. The token broke out of a long consolidation pattern with a 24-hour surge of roughly 9 percent on high volume, attracting fresh leverage and trend traders.
The move partially reversed over the last few hours as on-chain perpetuals saw an open interest flush and a fast 2.5 percent drop in 15 minutes, consistent with profit taking and liquidations rather than new fundamental news.
Analysts noted that CRV's 24-hour move around August 11 was about 9.5 percent, roughly three times its recent typical daily volatility, and that 24-hour turnover reached about 24.3 percent of market cap, indicating very active trading.
The broader crypto market has been almost flat over 24 hours, so the 3.7 percentage point move in CRV looks mainly position driven and technical, not macro driven.
