Crypto Adoption Stalls at the Interface
The assumption that crypto adoption is a demand problem has been proven wrong. People already understand the benefits of faster payments, stable digital value, clearer asset visibility, and stronger control over their funds.
However, many existing crypto products still make users manage complex technical details before completing simple actions, such as sending or receiving payments. This can be frustrating for those who are not familiar with blockchain technology and its underlying infrastructure.
The problem lies in the interface of these products, which often forces users to navigate multiple systems, networks, wallets, and balances. For example, a user may need to convert their digital assets into fiat currency before using them, or they may have to manage different types of digital value, such as stablecoins.
Stablecoins have shown that there is demand for digital value movement, but broader adoption requires predictable, account-style experiences connected to fiat access, cards, compliance, and real payment environments. WeFi's Unified Balance and Deobanking Model are examples of designing products from the financial action first, making onchain infrastructure usable in everyday financial behavior.
