Crypto Bill Hangs in Balance Over Ethics Provision
Senate Republicans are pessimistic about the chances of passing the bipartisan crypto market structure bill, known as the CLARITY Act.
The hang-up is a Democratic demand for ethics language covering President Trump and his family, which has stalled negotiations so far.
According to Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD), 'it does not look good right now.' Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) echoed this sentiment, stating that without White House interest in bridging the ethics gap, 'it is going to fail.'
The White House claims it has already agreed to the most comprehensive and wide-ranging ethics provision in history.
