Crypto Billionaires Backed by Trump Ally Reel in Big Donations

Senator Bernie Sanders blasted the billionaire class for influencing global politics with their donations. He highlighted the case of two crypto billionaires, Ben Delo and Christopher Harborne, who donated a combined $97 million to Reform UK, a party led by Nigel Farage.

Delo, the co-founder of BitMEX, donated approximately $48.7 million to Reform UK. In 2022, he pleaded guilty to violating the Bank Secrecy Act and agreed to pay a $10 million fine. However, in 2025, President Donald Trump pardoned him.

Harborne also donated $48.7 million to Reform UK. He owns a significant stake in Tether, a stablecoin giant. Farage thanked Delo and Harborne for their generosity, stating that they know Reform UK is the only party that can turn the country around and win the next general election.
