Crypto Billionaires Donate £72 Million to Reform UK Ahead of Election
Reform UK has received another significant donation from a cryptocurrency billionaire, this time in the form of £36 million. The donation was made by Thai-based businessman Christopher Harborne, who claims to be making a 'philanthropic gift to our country'.
Harborne's donation matches that of fellow billionaire Ben Delo, who also donated £36 million to Reform UK on Friday. In his statement, Harborne explained that he decided to match Delo's donation due to his 'competitive spirit', saying 'I hope others may join us'.
The donations come as a major boost to the party, which is preparing for government. The party has been receiving regular donations from both Harborne and Delo in recent months, with Harborne stating that he had been donating around £1 million per month.
