Crypto Billionaires Pump £72 Million into Farage's Reform UK
British crypto billionaires Christopher Harborne and Ben Delo have donated £72 million to Nigel Farage's Reform UK, reportedly making it the largest single political donation in British history.
The two donations were made within a 48-hour period, with Harborne matching Delo's £36 million contribution. According to Delo, he wanted to give Reform 'a fair fight and a level playing field' against the governing Labour Party and the Conservatives.
Harborne described his gift as 'a philanthropic gift to our country'. Farage stated that the funds would allow Reform to 'fight and win the next general election', with both donors claiming they wanted nothing in return, ruling out any knighthood, peerage or government contract.
The Labour Party has responded by pushing for tighter donation rules, which could apply retrospectively to March. The party's Angela Rayner stated, 'You can't buy your way into our democracy.'
