Crypto Bridges Under Fire: Hacking Attacks Expose Vulnerabilities
Cross-chain bridges have become a crucial component of the digital economy, but they are also vulnerable to hacking attacks. According to Andriy Velykyy, co-founder of Allbridge, these bridges connect different blockchains and allow users to transfer assets between them seamlessly.
Allbridge itself was recently hacked, with an attacker making off with $1.66 million by exploiting a combination of operations that distorted the state of two Solana liquidity pools.
The incident has led Allbridge to reevaluate its strategy, moving away from proprietary liquidity pools and towards native solutions like CCTP and OFT.
