Crypto Buybacks Surpass $638M in 2025 Led by Hyperliquid and Pump.fun
Crypto buybacks have reached an all-time high of $638 million in 2025, according to a report by Cointelegraph. The majority of this activity can be attributed to two projects: Hyperliquid and Pump.fun.
Hyperliquid has allocated approximately $370 million towards buybacks, while Pump.fun has committed about $200 million. This represents a significant shift in how crypto projects manage their treasuries, with both projects channeling a substantial portion of their revenue into buyback initiatives.
The scale of these buybacks is notable, especially when compared to traditional financial markets. In the crypto space, buybacks are often seen as a way to signal confidence and support token prices.
Token performance has outshined the broader market, with HYPE (Hyperliquid's native token) rising 145% and PUMP (Pump.fun's token) gaining 109%. However, it is essential to consider other factors that could influence these price movements, such as token utility, platform adoption, and overall market sentiment.
