Crypto Card Market Hits $759M in Monthly Spending Volumes
The crypto card market has experienced rapid growth, with monthly spending volumes reaching $759 million in July 2026. This figure represents more than a doubling compared to the same month last year, when it was $306 million.
Stablecoins are driving this growth, accounting for approximately 84% of tracked spending volume as of July 2026. USDC makes up around 58%, while USDT contributes about 26%. This dominance is due in part to the fact that consumers are using crypto cards as a convenient way to spend dollar-denominated digital assets without converting them back to traditional currency.
The sector has also seen an influx of new projects, with over 250 companies now associated with crypto card issuance. Mastercard's Crypto Partner Program, launched in March 2026, is one notable example. This program allows crypto-native companies to reduce the compliance burden when trying to get cards onto traditional payment networks.
The spending numbers are significant because they reflect real-world commerce, not speculative trading volume. Consumers are using crypto cards for everyday purchases like groceries and flights, rather than as a bet on price appreciation. This shift towards mainstream adoption is likely to have long-term implications for the crypto industry.
