Crypto Card Market Surpasses $1 Billion in Monthly Transactions
The global crypto card market has reached a significant milestone, surpassing $1 billion in monthly transactions. According to a new Gate Research report, this growth is driven by increasing demand for digital assets in everyday payments, including travel, software subscriptions, and retail purchases.
Since March 2023, tracked cryptocurrency card projects have processed over $10 billion in cumulative transactions. July 2026 saw a sharp acceleration in activity, with over 10.5 million transactions worth approximately $1.038 billion. The first seven months of 2026 generated roughly $5.48 billion in transaction volume, already exceeding the $3.8 billion recorded throughout all of 2025.
RedotPay dominates the market, accounting for about 56% of tracked volume with more than $6 billion in cumulative transactions. Ether.fi and KAST have generated approximately $754 million and $684 million, respectively. Other platforms, such as MetaMask and Gnosis Pay, are developing self-custodial and smart contract-based payment systems.
Gate Research identified several emerging crypto card models, including traditional prepaid cards that require users to convert crypto into fiat before making purchases, instant-spending products that automatically convert digital assets during transactions, stablecoin settlement, smart contract debits, and crypto-backed borrowing. Gate Card combines prepaid and instant-spending models, offering a six-tier T0, T5 cashback program with rewards of up to 8%.
