Crypto.com Brings Tokenized US Equities to European Users
Crypto.com has expanded its offerings to eligible users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and other approved jurisdictions, allowing them to invest in tokenized US equities and exchange-traded funds through the Crypto.com App. The company's new Tokenized Stocks offer exposure to over 1,500 underlying stocks and funds, with round-the-clock trading, fractional investing, and fast settlement. This move is part of Crypto.com's effort to bridge the divide between digital assets and traditional financial markets.
The tokenized US equities are issued by Foris Capital CY Limited, a company regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, while the underlying assets are held in custody with Alpaca, a U.S. regulated self-clearing broker-dealer. Crypto.com Co-Founder and CEO Kris Marszalek stated, 'Money never sleeps. Market access shouldn't either.' He added that Tokenized Stocks offers a simple, 24/7 solution to a historically complex trading experience.
This announcement comes after Crypto.com secured a $400 million strategic investment from Citadel Securities in July, which valued the company at $20 billion. The investment is aimed at accelerating the company's expansion into new asset classes and creating a round-the-clock financial ecosystem designed for greater market efficiency.
