Crypto.com Taps Compliance Expert to Lead Cyprus Operations Amid Multi-Asset Push
Crypto.com has appointed Stelios Moyseos as the Executive Director of its Cyprus entity, bolstering its European leadership team with a seasoned compliance and regulatory expert. Moyseos previously served as Chief Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Officer at retail broker BDSwiss, where he oversaw restructuring efforts in 2024 that ultimately led to CySEC withdrawing the broker's license due to prolonged inactivity.
Moyseos' career also includes time as an officer at CySEC. He expressed his enthusiasm for joining Crypto.com on LinkedIn, stating: 'I look forward to working alongside an exceptional team as we continue building a strong, compliant and innovative offering for our clients across Europe.'
This appointment follows Crypto.com's acquisition of CySEC-regulated A.N. Allnew Investments Ltd in 2025, which granted the exchange a Cyprus Investment Firm license under the EU's MiFID regime, enabling it to offer traditional derivatives.
Crypto.com is expanding its European footprint, mirroring an industry trend where global crypto exchanges are acquiring established local brokers and hiring compliance and regulatory veterans to run their local divisions. This push into multi-asset trading highlights how exchanges are working to diversify their revenue streams beyond pure digital assets as the sector faces persistent headwinds in 2026.
Kraken, another prominent exchange, has followed a similar path by naming regulatory technology expert Andreas Roussos to head its Cyprus operations. This strategy underscores the importance of regulated traditional derivatives for major players in the industry.
