Crypto.com Unveils Tokenized Stocks: A New Era of US Market Access
Crypto.com has introduced Tokenized Stocks, a feature that allows users to trade exposure to US equities and ETFs directly from their app. This move marks a significant step in bridging the gap between traditional finance and blockchain-based trading. With Tokenized Stocks, users can gain access to 1,500 underlying US stocks and funds starting at just $1.
The product supports 24/7 trading, allowing users to react to market news or price swings outside of regular market hours. The initial roster includes prominent names such as NVDA, TSLA, AAPL, as well as ETFs like GLD and SLV. Crypto.com is offering zero-commission trading on Tokenized Stocks for a limited introductory period.
Behind the app's simple interface lies a conventional regulatory structure, with underlying assets held in custody by Alpaca, a US-regulated self-clearing broker-dealer. In the European Economic Area, the product is issued by Foris Capital CY Limited, which is regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). This regulatory layering underscores Crypto.com's commitment to treating tokenized equities as a serious financial product.
Crypto.com Co-Founder and CEO Kris Marszalek framed the launch as part of a broader strategy to build out a multi-asset ecosystem. 'Money never sleeps,' he said, 'and market access shouldn't either.' By modernizing one of the world's oldest asset classes with blockchain-based settlement and always-on access, Crypto.com aims to revolutionize how users interact with equities.
