A group of crypto companies has petitioned leading artificial intelligence labs to grant Bitcoin and open-source developers early access to their most advanced models.

The goal is to level the technological playing field and strengthen cybersecurity against increasingly sophisticated threats. The Bitcoin Policy Institute led the initiative, which was endorsed by multiple industry organizations and companies such as Anchorage Digital, BitGo, Kraken, Ledger, and Trezor.

Currently, the network of Bitcoin (BTC) secures over a trillion dollars in value globally. However, developers face significant barriers when trying to perform deep stress tests due to restrictions and security filters built into publicly available AI systems.
